Role Purpose:
The Economic Capital Actuary is a key member of the Actuarial Management team. The role will be responsible for the delivery of all Solvency 2 and Economic Capital reporting to meet the requirements of the Regulator, the wider Group and local management. The role will involve direct contact on a regular basis with senior management. This role requires close liaison with peer actuarial and Finance managers and will involve leading a team of actuarial professionals.

Duties:
The key responsibilities of the role are as follows:
? Lead the Economic Capital team in the following:
? Calculation and analysis of the Solvency 2 Technical Provisions and SCR on a standard formula and internal model basis, liaising closely with the senior management locally and at Group
? Production of Pillar 3 QRTs for quarterly and annual regulatory reporting.
? Production, identification and explanation of the sources of the Own Funds (OF) and Solvency Capital Requirement (SCR) via a Profit and Loss Attribution
? Calculation and analysis of S2 new business metrics
? Review of S2 calibrations as required by Group Risk Calibration Framework and ensure compliant with Group methodology manuals
? Production and analysis of Stress and Scenario Testing, sensitivities, and other analysis as required
? Ensure that the Economic Capital team have the necessary processes and controls in place to meet internal standards for financial management and accelerate reporting timelines.
? Specification and testing of changes to the Prophet model, Data Warehouse and IT developments as required for existing or new business.
? Liaising closely with internal and external partners such as Financial Reporting, Actuarial Modelling, Finance, and Group HQ as required.
? Develop and motivate a team of actuarial professionals.
? Involvement in projects, both Solvency II related and Group wide, as the opportunities arise.

Skills & Experience:
Ideally candidates will have the following knowledge, skills and experience:
? Qualified actuary
? Extensive experience of Solvency 2 and Economic Capital reporting or experience of MCEV reporting
? Knowledge of the financial structure and operation of life and pensions products
? Excellent leadership skills with the ability to deliver / transfer knowledge through coaching and mentoring skills
? Delivery focused with a flexible attitude and approach
? Mental agility and decision making skills
? Up to date knowledge and understanding of actuarial principles and methodology, including knowledge of Prophet
? Confident communicator, with strong written and oral communication skills
? Demonstrated ability to prioritise and progress multiple deliverables
? Evidence of proven career track record and consistent record of achievement
? Experience of senior stakeholder management
