Role Purpose:

The Financial Reporting Actuary is a key member of the Finance team. The role will be responsible for the delivery of all Life valuation reporting to meet the requirements of local management, the local Board, the local regulator and the wider Group.

Duties:

The key responsibilities of the role are as follows:
? Lead the Life Actuarial Reporting team in the following:
? Calculation and analysis of the Market Consistent Embedded Value
? Identification and explanation of the sources of profit in the income statement and completion of analysis of surplus of the MCEV net worth
? Overseeing the calculation of IFRS results including reserves, profit flows and disclosures, with a strong focus on analysis of the drivers of the IFRS profit
? Calculation and monitoring of solvency cover and understanding the drivers in movement
? Development and implementation of new reporting standards as they arise
? Monthly calculation and analysis of the value of new business and profit margins
? Support of senior management
? Ensure that the reporting team have the necessary processes and controls in place to meet the changing requirements
? Ensure that the reporting team has appropriate systems and controls in place to comply with Aviva’s standards for financial management and control
? Liaising closely with internal and external partners such as Finance business partners, Finance Reporting & Control, Actuarial, Product & Pricing and Group as required

Qualifications:
? Qualified Actuary

Skills & Experience:
Ideally candidates will have the following knowledge, skills and experience:

? Extensive financial reporting experience including MCEV, IFRS and regulatory solvency
? Knowledge of the financial structure and operation of life and pensions products and in particular have a strong knowledge of the structures of unit linked, with profit and term insurance products and a knowledge of reinsurance
? Delivery focused with a flexible attitude and approach
? Mental agility and decision making skills
? Track record of continuous improvement and process re-engineering
? Confident communicator, with strong written and oral communication skills
? Influencing across organisational and geographic boundaries
? Demonstrated ability to prioritise and progress multiple deliverables
? Evidence of proven career track record and consistent record of achievement
? Experience of senior stakeholder management
