Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Capital & Liquidity Management will be responsible for the oversight and management of capital and liquidity (including cash and collateral) across the business of our client’s life division. This includes oversight of the capital- and liquidity-related activities carried out by teams in the legal entities which underwrite the life division business, including composite entities and Hub teams. The role includes responsibility for intra-Group retrocession arrangements in respect of life business, as well as leadership in the execution of projects to deliver enhancements to the capital and liquidity position of the life division, legal entities and the Group. A key part of the role is also leading the capital, dividend, cashflow and collateral planning, in conjunction with legal entity and Group teams.

Key duties and responsibilities:

1) Responsiblity for capital management within the Life Division in accordance with Group policies :
• Managing & coordinating & presenting all divisional capital topics to the Technical Capital Management Committee
• Representing Life Division at the APAC CMC to discuss regional capital topics there
• Leading the execution of all capital management projects
• Over-seeing a forward-looking perspective on potential capital risks and issues

2) Responsibility for Internal Retrocession arrangements
• Manage internal retrocession globally for Life Division with a specific focus on EMEA and APAC solutions
• For EMEA and APAC:
o Identification of need
o Discussion of solution with stakeholders
o Co-ordination with Legal and Global Pricing, including if necessary, documentation for TP purposes
o Exécution of treaties
• Review of all internal retrocession treaties in respect of North American business
• ICS Process owner for Internal Retrocession globally

3) Supporting the Global FP&A team and the Group Capital Management team in respect of the application of the S&P capital model, including monitoring and managing the collateral posting risk for Life Division (S&P KPI under the liquidity assessment)

4) Responsibility for Liquidity Management, including :
• Main stakeholder for Group Treasury on all cash & collateral topics
• Analyzing and communicating Cashflow Forecasting (« CFF ») at divisional level
• Implementing an efficient framework to deliver cashflow forecasts for key legal entities
• Management & Analysis of Quarterly Technical Cashflow and Operating Cashflow in landing, actual and plan processes (including mitigation activities)

5) Oversight of Collateral Management activity
• Responsible for management of the MasterTrust arrangement
• Implementing, in conjunction with teams in US, Ireland and internationally, an efficient framework to analyse and project future collateral needs (including LoC’s), and to report on current collateral positions
• Delivering updates on collateral position to Group senior management
• Providing LoC cost forecast for the operating plan

6) Life Division Finance representative on large new business deals, business transfers novations, and M&A transactions:
• Delivering input to deal analysis on key issues of capital, liquidity, collateral
• Working with the FP&A team to deliver tax analyses of deals

7) Life Division Finance contact point for Group Tax :
• Co-ordinating divisional contribution to tax audits, in conjunction with legal entity management
• Documentation of internal transactions
• NOL utilisations (in conjunction with legal entity and Macro Market management)

Required experience & competencies –

Experience:
• Significant experience at a senior executive level in a finance team in an insurance or reinsurance organisation
• Strong familiarity with life reinsurance business
• Proven ability to lead various across finance disciplines (Accounting, Actuarial, FP&A)
• Significant experience of capital management (economic and regulatory)
• Prior experience in aspects of liquidity management (such as treasury, collateral, etc.)
• Track record of building and managing high-performing teams

• Excellent analytical and conceptual skills, with a solution-focussed mindset
• Strong interpersonal and intercultural competencies, with the ability to maintain relationships and support a “safe space” for members of the Finance teams
