Our client is looking to recruit a Head of Sales and Distribution for Ireland. The successful candidate will have the chance to shape and develop the proposition and business model. The Head of Sales and Distribution will likely be a qualified actuary with significant relationship management experience and product development and/or pricing experience.

This individual will be a key member of the Irish management team, reporting to the Country Head in Ireland. This is an exciting new role for an experienced individual who will take the lead in generating, developing and maintaining a profitable portfolio.

The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial and have outstanding leadership skills and multi-dimensional thinking capabilities. The successful candidate will have a client-centric mindset and strong stakeholder management skills as they will be required to interface with our Sales, Products, Operations and Finance departments.

Key Role Accountabilities –

Leadership:
The candidate is expected to have held a senior leadership role previously and demonstrate excellent leadership skills as well as a track record of developing quality relationships with brokers and/or customers

Strategy:
The candidate together with the Country Manager will develop a strategy to launch in Ireland. In particular the Head of Sales will be responsible for developing deep relationships with brokers and supporting the brokers to assess their clients’ policy needs having regard to our products and delivering products that offer comprehensive cover and good value for money, whilst also looking for new areas of business growth and cross-selling.

Product Development:
The candidate will work closely with the Head of Pricing to support the product development and meet our customers’ needs.

Communication Skills:
Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will regularly interact with senior stakeholders in the broker market and in our head office overseas who will need their needs understood and solutions subsequently delivered effectively and understandably.

Quality Management:
Based on the defined Key Performance Indicators the candidate will steer, track and monitor the entire Sales and Distribution activities. It is also expected that the candidate will monitor closely whether the profitability targets are in line with the Financial Plan.
