Internal Model Validation | Actuary

Purpose:
To be part of a team that owns and manages a Partial Internal Model (PIM) in line with internal policies and regulations. The Internal Model represents significant risk capital and extensive engagement will be required with Board level committees and senior management who have responsibility for risk exposures.

This role will assist our client in finalising the implementation and embedding of the Internal Model governance processes. Going forward, key responsibilities will include:
� Being part of a team that manages the day-to-day operation of the IM. This includes looking after all Line 1 Model Governance deliverables, making sure they are appropriate and produced in a timely manner;
� Key contributor to future enhancements to the PIM to ensure that capital requirements appropriately represent the risk profile of the business
� Attending the Internal Model risk committee and contributing to the equivalent Group committees
� Operate independently from the various teams producing Line 1 deliverables and have sufficient knowledge to appropriately assess the quality of results, prepare and present follow-up actions and propose and recommend changes to Line 1 internal model lead & senior management
� Production of MI that will be reporting outputs into the Head of Reporting, Head of Actuarial Function, CFO, Model Governance Committee and Board

Key Competencies/Skills/ Experience
� Actuarial qualification with minimum 1 years PQE;
� Internal Model knowledge and experience an advantage;
� Experience in delivering 1st line Model activity and advantage;
� Ability to deliver across organisational boundaries;
� An appreciation of the industry and regulatory framework in which Standard Life operates;
� Strong Analytical skills;
� Communication skills, impact & influence (stakeholder management); and
� Change Management
