RESPONSABILITIES and TASKS
This position will support the Actuarial Team and the Chief Risk Officer.
• Reports to the Chief Risk Officer
• Assists in ensuring that the company’s risk & compliance management framework is in line with the expectations of the Board of Directors and the Central Bank of Ireland
• Assists in the monitoring, control and reporting of the capital positon of the company through the renewal period and at reporting stages
• Assists in the maintenance and development of the risk register for the Company
• Assists in the preparation and implementation of the Annual Risk & Compliance Plans
• Analyses and assesses the potential impacts of natural catastrophes on reinsurance contracts using third-party models
• Develops a clear understanding of the CAT Model methodology and underlying assumptions
• Supports the monitoring and reporting of CAT Aggregates
• Will be involved in developing and enhancing methods and systems for CAT risk exposure analyses and accumulation control
SKILLS
• Technical competencies
– Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or similar fields
– Experience with data collection and analysis
– Good knowledge in Excel , VBA, Matlab, R or other programming languages
– Knowledge of Solvency II
– Knowledge of the Irish regulatory environment
• Non-Technical competencies
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills
– Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
– Strong organisational skills including the ability to manage multiple assignments
– Ability to exercise judgement and work independently
– High attention to detail and accuracy with report writing skills
– Ability to develop and understand the link between risk and compliance requirements and business needs.
– English required and fluency in another European language a distinct advantage (French, German or Italian ideally)
