Credit Insurance Pricing Actuary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a nearly or recently qualified actuary to join a growing European mortgage insurance team based in Dublin.

This role offers exposure to credit insurance, mortgage risk transfer, actuarial pricing, underwriting, capital markets and European banking, with the opportunity to work closely with experienced senior actuaries and insurance professionals.

The successful candidate will play a key role in pricing and underwriting new transactions, particularly in the Significant Risk Transfer market, as well as monitoring and reporting on an existing portfolio.

The role offers excellent senior stakeholder exposure and the opportunity to contribute to strategic decisions in a fast-growing area of the insurance market.

Key responsibilities will include preparing underwriting analysis and memos, assessing probability of default and loss given default across loan portfolios, supporting pricing strategy, reviewing transaction structures, monitoring portfolio performance and providing insights to senior stakeholders.
The role will also involve contributing to workflow improvements, including the use of AI-enabled tools, and supporting business development activity from an actuarial perspective.

The ideal candidate will be a nearly or recently qualified actuary with relevant experience in areas such as credit risk, insurance, actuarial pricing, general insurance, investment markets, actuarial consulting, banking or mortgage markets. Strong Excel, PowerPoint, modelling and communication skills are important, along with the ability to explain complex analysis clearly to stakeholders. Data analytics or programming skills would be advantageous but are not essential.

This is a hybrid role based in Dublin, with occasional European travel. An attractive remuneration package and study support, where required, will be offered.
