We are currently undergoing a period of expansion and looking to recruit a number of talented, experienced and ambitious actuaries to cope with growing demand for actuarial services.
In particular, we are looking for a non-life actuarial manager to join our team.
 
Your key responsibilities 
  • Actuarial Managers are involved in the successful delivery and management of actuarial and multidisciplinary projects, including both the relationship with clients and the performance of the internal team.
  • They will have a responsibility for assisting with the management and development of more junior colleagues.
  • They will look to develop a number of areas of technical excellence, participating in the research and development required to support the growth of these fields of expertise.
  • They will be expected to adopt an account management mind-set, identifying client specific needs.
  • They must be confident and credible in taking the lead in both client interactions and with more junior colleagues.
  • They will work across a broad range of projects both as part of the assurance and advisory practices.
  • They will look to develop their network through working on multidisciplinary projects across different service lines. 
Skills and attributes for success
 
Technical 
  • Qualified Actuary, with experience in non-life insurance/reinsurance or non-life consultancy, preferably with IFRS 17 or related experience
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills
  • IT programming (e.g. in the form of reserving/capital model development) or actuarial software experience (e.g. reserving/capital software packages)
  • Awareness of the challenges facing the non-life insurance industry
 To qualify for the role you must have 
  • Previous experience in managing more junior staff and delivering projects
  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving and managing multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication skills, both in written and oral format
  • Focus on deadlines, discipline and process, yet flexible and pragmatic
  • Professional attitude and demeanour
  • Confident dealing with clients
 Ideally, you’ll also have 
  • Previous experience in at least two of the following areas:
    • IFRS 17
    • Solvency II
    • Financial reporting
    • Capital and Risk Management
