This role provides a unique experience for the right candidate to get involved in range of actuarial projects for a rapidly expanding company. The position will be responsible for providing a range of actuarial support to the business across all product lines. The role will consist of involvement in the quarterly reserving process on both SII and GAAP bases; providing assistance into the Pricing of various products and working with the Finance team on the planning process for all classes of business.
Essential Job Functions:
o Working with the existing Actuarial Reserving team to provide support into the quarterly reserving process.
o Assisting with the production of the Actuarial reports including the quarterly Actuarial Reserving Report, the Actuarial Function Report and the Actuarial Report on Technical Provisions.
o Providing a closer link between Actuarial and Finance (and other Dublin based management teams) throughout the quarterly processes.
o Work closely with underwriters to understand trends seen in emerging data and to provide relevant Management Information.
o Assist in discussions with auditors, external consultants and regulators as part of their reviews.
o Provide input into the Solvency II Technical Provision process.
o Work with the group Actuarial Pricing team to provide pricing support across all lines of business.
o Work with Underwriting to develop and maintain the existing pricing models across a range of products. Supporting the development of pricing models for new products as the company expands.
o Work with the reinsurance team to identify optimal reinsurance structures.
o Monitoring of pricing assumptions against the experience and providing feedback to the business (to both Underwriting and Actuarial)
o Providing Actuarial support into the annual planning project and working with Finance to further development the process
Other duties may be assigned as necessary, including providing support to the group Actuarial Capital team in the development of the capital model.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Ideally the candidate will be a qualified Actuary
• General insurance experience is a necessity and preferably with a London Market background.
• Experience of reserving processes and of presenting results to management.
• A proactive individual who can work both independently and within the wider Actuarial team.
• Good interpersonal skills are a requisite for the role as the individual will be required to build relationships within the Group.
