This is a key specialist role reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer.

Responsibilities of the Role:
• Coordinate Solvency Capital Requirements (SCR) calculations on a quarterly basis in accordance with the standard formula set out under Solvency II
• Work with relevant internal data providers to perform the SCR calculations
• Perform analyses of quarterly changes to the SCR, understand the drivers of change
• Development of Risk reporting, including but not limited to Risk Dashboard, movements against Risk Appetites
• Assist in the development of stress and scenario tests to support the business via the ORSA process
• Perform ad-hoc SCR analyses as required by the business
• Perform analyses of rating agency capital requirements and support presentations to same
• Review the quarterly risk processes in order to identify and develop enhancements
• Review and maintain relevant processes and methodology documentation
• Develop a thorough understanding of reinsurance
• Assist the CRO in other aspects of the risk framework to ensure the company identifies, monitors and manages risks in accordance with board, shareholder and regulatory expectations

Technical Skills and Experience:
• Degree (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Actuarial Science or a related field
• Understanding and experience, for at least a period of three years, in carrying out standard formula calculations under Solvency II preferably within a reinsurance environment
• Prior experience in insurance or preferably reinsurance would be a distinct advantage
• Strong IT skills (MS Office, VBA, SQL, Matlab, R or other programming languages)
• Ability to challenge and enhance existing analytical methodologies
• Ability to write clearly presenting complex information in an understandable, logical and comprehensive manner
