This is a hands-on, and impactful role that sits at the intersection of actuarial, underwriting, and carrier management. The right person will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be energised by building things from scratch, and able to work well with a wide range of stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct exposure and mix analyses to understand portfolio movements and their drivers
  • Perform claim frequency and severity analyses, and develop the pricing view of ultimate loss ratio
  • Assist with the build and digitisation of rating tools, working alongside underwriting and technology teams
  • Engage directly with carrier partners on all performance management topics, acting as a credible, trusted counterpart on portfolio performance
  • Support business planning, including the modelling of profit commissions and their sensitivity to performance outcomes
  • Partner with underwriting teams to refine risk appetite, translating analytical insight into practical underwriting action
  • Contribute to the development of MI, data pipelines, and reporting infrastructure as the business scales
  • Lead the build of technical price and customer propensity modelling for certain segments of the portfolio
  • Support the assessment and due diligence of inorganic (M&A and investment hiring) opportunities as the MGA grows
Personal Attributes
  • Highly commercially aware
  • Strong relationship-builder, both cross-functionally (underwriting, finance, technology & operations) and externally
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Showing enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and resilient
  • Self-starting, pragmatic and outcome-oriented
Requirements
  • Qualified actuary (FIA or equivalent), with relevant experience in a P&C environment

  • Experience across multiple European insurance markets is a plus
  • Experience with Python/SQL/R programming as well as WTW software (EMBLEM / Radar / ResQ etc.) is an advantage
