The key purpose of this role is to support the delivery of the GI Business Lines SME Pricing strategy. This role is being offered on a 12 month FTC. You will be a part/nearly/newly-qualified actuary.

Your Role
As an SME Pricing Actuary your main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:
- Performing actuarial analysis to provide highly accurate data, insights, and rate recommendations for use by Pricing and Underwriting Management.
- Develop and maintain pricing models, rating tools, and programs for model-building and actuarial analysis; interpret results of models and analysis and communicate results to stakeholders.
- Develop/improve MI and reporting capabilities; assisting in the provision of pricing insights to Portfolio Managers and underwriters to support portfolio management, pricing, and risk selection.
- Participate in the evaluation and review of new proposed processes, systems, and models for use in the pricing of SME business.
- Assist in the management and delivery of pricing projects in order to support plan delivery for the SME portfolio.
- Provide support to the Pricing Manager, Pricing Team colleagues, and wider company in delivering on strategic objectives.
- Support the automation of critical pricing processes to improve efficiency and operational excellence.
As an SME Pricing Actuary your skills and qualifications will include:
- Part-qualified actuary, with a degree in a relevant field (e.g. Actuarial Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics).
- Experience working in the General Insurance industry, preferably within Pricing.
- Strong analytical skills, with knowledge of relevant software and programming languages e.g. Excel, SAS, EMBlem, R, VBA.
- Flexible team player with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Highly motivated, demonstrating initiative and ability to work independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical subject matter to a wide range of stakeholders.
